Virginia Wagner, known to her friends and customers as Ginny, is the founder and owner of “Totally Baked on Sanibel”.

Ginny was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. She and her family spent summers in the quaint little waterside town of Colonial Beach, Virginia. She loved the town, and eventually decided to lived there.

Colonial Beach is where her culinary career began. She specialized in funnel cakes and elephant ear confections which she sold from an eight by ten-foot concession trailer on the boardwalk. During the winter months, she traveled the carnival circuit. Her business found a home for several years in an Amish Farmer Market.

She then went on to open a water theme park which included a slide, a 1950’s theme restaurant, video store and bakery. This experience added to her realization that baking was her passion.

She began to pursue her education in the culinary arts ending up at a South Carolina university before moving to Sanibel. She worked as a pastry chef and bakery manager for five years on the island before her entrepreneurship bug surfaced once more. She found the perfect location on Sanibel and decided to open “Totally Baked on Sanibel” where she pursues her passion and creates delicious foods and baked goods for locals and travelers to enjoy.

Adam Walling is from Indianapolis, Indiana and the manager of Totally Baked on Sanibel. Growing up, his amazing family quickly discovered he had “a mouth full of sweet teeth” and a passion bordering on addiction for excellent food.  Topping his list of childhood heroes were “Little Debbie”, “Betty Crocker”, and, of course, “The Pillsbury Dough Boy”.

Following his stomach, Adam moved to Orlando, Florida to work at Disney’s Boardwalk Bakery in Epcot. After that sugar rush, he moved to Chicago, Illinois to pursue a mouth-watering education in baking and pastry. While there he worked as a baker and eventually a pastry chef.

Longing for a warmer climate, he moved back to sunny Florida and worked for a local bakery on beautiful Sanibel Island. With the help and support of family and friends, he is now proud to help bring Totally Baked on Sanibel to Island foodies.
